It’s been a tough week for Northwest Florida as our communities navigate the impacts of Hurricane Isaias. As we continue to recover, we’re reminded of the importance of preparedness, resilient infrastructure, and neighbors looking out for one another.

Our thoughts are with our neighbors in Milton, Pensacola, and the surrounding communities who experienced significant damage. We’re grateful for the first responders, utility crews, and community members working together to help our region recover.

At SEAS, we know that accurate surveying, geospatial data, and thoughtful planning play an important role in understanding our environment and supporting resilient infrastructure.

We’re proud to be part of a community that has come together to support one another.

Did You Know?
It’s a common misconception that drones can’t fly over certain spaces. In reality, commercial drone operations are permitted in many areas when conducted by properly certified professionals and in accordance with FAA regulations, airspace restrictions, and applicable local requirements.

At SEAS, our sUAS team uses drone technology to safely and efficiently collect valuable aerial data for surveying, mapping, LiDAR, and more.

The sky is another tool in the surveyor’s toolbox.

This month, SEAS had the opportunity to support our own Laura Garrett, Team Support Specialist, as she served on a mission trip to Kenya. Laura joined a team providing teaching and leadership development for local ministers, ministers’ wives, and laypeople.

The week was filled with meaningful conversations, training, worship, baptisms, and opportunities to encourage local leaders. One especially powerful reminder came from women who walked more than 12 miles through challenging terrain just to attend the training, a beautiful picture of their dedication to growing in God’s Word.

We’re proud to support Laura as she uses her time and talents to serve others, and grateful for the opportunity to play a small part in the work happening in Kenya.

Employee Spotlight🔦
Meet Cody Snow, our Survey Crew Coordinator!

Cody is one of those people who brings a great attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to help wherever he’s needed. As a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Cody brings a level of dedication and teamwork to everything he does.

When he’s not helping coordinate our survey crews and keeping things moving, Cody is a proud dad and family man. He also loves fishing, hunting and the outdoors. His commitment to his family and his team are just a few of the things that make Cody such a great part of SEAS.

Breakwaters help protect shorelines and infrastructure by reducing the impact of waves and limiting erosion.

For this Bay County project, SEAS is using drone technology to collect detailed data above and below the water. Our drone captures aerial information while our survey team works from the water to document the conditions that inform the project.

Combining the right technology with experienced survey professionals allows SEAS to provide the accurate data these projects depend on.

There’s more to an aerial survey than putting a drone in the air.

SEAS drone pilot Darrin is using our Inspired Flight IF800 to collect aerial data for a breakwater project in Bay County. Projects like these help protect shorelines and infrastructure from erosion and wave action.

It takes the right technology, experience, and skill to capture the data engineers need to make informed decisions.

September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

Today, Seaside Engineering and Surveying pauses to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the families, first responders, military members, and communities forever changed that day.

We honor the courage, sacrifice, and service that followed.

We will never forget.

From the field to the office, so much goes into the work we do every day and we’re grateful for the people who show up, work hard, and get it done.
