Looking over my left shoulder, your right, you can see what remains of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland. I live within walking distance of the area, and where I'm standing is loopbeing turned into a Memorial for those men that died when the bridge collapsed. There are Amercian Flags, flowers, pictures and personal notes from loved ones all around me. I personally placed half a dozen small American Flags into the ground and plan on placing a large flag there tonight. That was not just any bridge, it was the gatekeeper to our port, a symbol of freedom looming in the distance and visible from almost anywhere you were in Baltimore City, Dundalk, Maryland and everywhere on the other side in Anne Arundel County. When I climbed the small mound to take my first look since it happened I couldn't believe what I saw. I didn't want to acknowledge something that important and vital was taken from us due to what is coming to show nothing but incompetence, and ignorance with an underlying amount of greed. A lot of people in this area don't think of this as an accident and a coincidence which makes everything so much worse to deal with. This is our home, everyone of us took this personal, stopped what our lives force us to do and in one way or another made our way to that area, and paid homage in our own way to where the bridge once stood proud but fragile, the very place where our Natoinal Anthem was penned. Word spread fast about the disaster that claimed lives and livelihoods with the impact thats felt for years to come. People joined together to offer prayer for the people missing to be found safe and sound. The bridge vanished in the blink of and eye, at the least save those people that perished simply doing a job to maintain that vital artery connecting so many people, until the unthinkable struck. God Bless America, and everyone under the protection of this great country!
