One of the most common questions we get during sod installations is, “How long should I water it for?”

Our answer is always the same…until it’s actually wet.

This photo shows roughly 5 minutes of watering on newly installed sod. Once we peeled the sod back, you can clearly see how little water had actually penetrated into the soil below. The surface may look wet, but that doesn’t mean the root zone is getting what it needs.

With new sod, it’s critical that water reaches well below the blades of grass and into the soil underneath so roots can establish properly. Light, quick watering cycles usually aren’t enough, especially during warm, sunny weather.

Healthy lawns start below the surface.

Fresh mulch and clean edges can completely change the look of a property.

We removed old mulch material, redefined and sharpened the garden bed edges and gave everything that needed it a proper pruning and trim. Once the cleanup was finished, we installed 10 yards of mulch throughout the property.

Simple work like this makes a huge difference in how polished and maintained a property feels.

This was a fun one!

The front of the property got a complete refresh with nearly all new plantings, a redesigned pathway area, and transplanting of several existing shrubs to better fit the space. Finished off with crisp edges and fresh mulch all the way around.

Some of the new plant selections included Bee Balm, Tater Tot Boxwoods, Liriope, Japanese Hollies, and a Caryopteris to add a mix of structure, color, and pollinator interest throughout the landscape. Not shown are 2 Blue Arrow Junipers that will bookend the front porch steps.

The backyard experiences uphill runoff issues during larger storms. Until additional drainage solutions are installed, this decorative yet functional rock swale helps divert and manage excess water flow while still keeping the space clean and visually appealing.

We completely stripped the bed, regraded both the swale and garden area, added additional 3–5” river stone, installed fresh periwinkle plugs, and extended a downspout to further improve drainage performance.

Phase 2 of this install will bring the property to life after dark with a custom landscape lighting package designed to highlight the new plantings, pathways and architectural features of the home!

A recently completed downspout and sump pump relocation for a homeowner where both systems were discharging into high-traffic areas leading to constant saturation and muddy conditions. By rerouting the drainage properly, we helped restore a cleaner, drier, and more functional space.
