One of the best parts of being employee-owned is having plenty of reasons to celebrate the people who make Haley Ward what it is. October gave us a whole month to do just that!

Across our offices in New England, Florida and Tennessee, employee-owners came together throughout ESOP Month for a little friendly competition, plenty of fun and opportunities to connect.

From our kickoff lunch and Battle of the Bands to spirit week, wellness activities, learning sessions, potlucks, games and kindness grams, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

ESOP Month is a great reminder that being employee-owned is about more than sharing in the success of our company. It's about the people who make that success possible and the connections we build along the way.

To all our employee-owners, thank you for making Haley Ward such a great place to work. It's your contributions, commitment and pride in what we do that make being an ESOP something worth celebrating!

Help us celebrate Brad Sloat and 20 years with Haley Ward!

Over the past two decades, Brad has grown from an Environmental Technician to a Senior Project Scientist and Project Manager, taking on new challenges and learning along the way. He’s also had the opportunity to learn from talented colleagues and now enjoys being a resource for others on the team.

This Employee Ownership Month, we’re especially glad to celebrate Brad, who has seen a lot of change and growth at Haley Ward over the years. He appreciates how employee ownership connects everyone’s contributions to the company’s success and believes we all benefit when we succeed together.

Please join us in welcoming Amy Johnson, PE to Haley Ward!

Amy joins our team as Southern Maine and New Hampshire Land Development Manager, based in our Portsmouth, NH, office. She brings more than ten years of technical and project management experience, leading multidisciplinary teams and building strong client relationships.

Amy holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. As a licensed Professional Engineer in Maine and Rhode Island, she brings experience in site civil engineering, stormwater management, permitting, construction administration and infrastructure design.

At our recent quarterly company meeting, we celebrated our latest Quarterly All Stars: Lynn Brochu, Project Coordinator in Engineering in Bangor; Sam Trotter, PSM, Project Manager in Survey in Port St. Lucie; and Nicholas Craig, Survey Technician in Bangor.

Each was recognized for their commitment to our clients and colleagues and the positive difference they make through their work and support of others.

Strong communities depend on the people and organizations working every day to make them better, and we’re proud to support that work!

Haley Ward sponsored a meeting room at The COMMUNITY: Maine’s Nonprofit Hub, an initiative of Heart of Maine United Way that opened in fall 2025. The space gives nonprofits a place to connect, collaborate, and access resources to help them better serve their communities.

From Florida to New England, Haley Ward is meeting with students and future professionals at college career fairs across our regions.

Austin Weeks, EI, Staff Engineer in our Melbourne, Florida, office, represented Haley Ward at the UA Whitaker College of Engineering Career Fair at Florida Gulf Coast University recently.

Next up, we’ll be at the University of Maine’s Annual Engineering & Computing Job Fair on Wednesday, October 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the New Balance Student Recreation Center in Orono.

A former Wyman’s blueberry farm is now home to Lantern Camp, a unique Maine destination where guests can immerse themselves in the outdoors while most of the landscape remains untouched.

Haley Ward helped make this vision a reality, working with the owners to plan a 24-cabin getaway on 166 acres while limiting development to just two acres.

Last week, our team attended the ribbon cutting for Bangor Housing's Sunridge Senior Housing in Bangor, Maine, celebrating the completion of 50 new affordable apartments for adults age 55 and older.

Haley Ward provided civil engineering services, including site design and permitting, as well as land surveying and natural resources surveying for the project.

Access to safe, affordable housing is an ongoing challenge throughout Maine, and projects like Sunridge help address that need. These new apartments give older adults more opportunities to find housing they can afford while remaining in the community they call home.

We’re proud to have played a part in bringing this project to life and helping create more housing opportunities for our neighbors in the Bangor area.
