The 2023 season has begun! The first half of the week consisted of mowing all our commercial properties. The Second half of the week we plant these 5 budding red maples in Corinth and this flowering magnolia in Holden. A wonderful selection of beautiful trees at Sprague’s Nursery.

This was a multi weekend side project. a Natural boulder raised display, backed filled with 3/4 stone with contained planters within. Junipers, cone flowers and day Lilly’s accent and support the two home stand by Generators. The ditch in front of this display was fabriced and rip rapped. Oh and I can’t forget, 4 strong 14’ red maples completed this beautiful landscape for CMD power systems, located in Hermon, Maine.

This week we finally got to a planting that has been discussed and planned since last winter. A beautiful large hawthorn tree and two Sargent crab apples. All three went in flawlessly. A happy client. Great weather. Can’t get much better heading into a Holiday weekend. 🌳 🍎 🇺🇸

I got a call from a referred client last week. He has a large Planting project planned. 11 conifers. All large trees. Also, three that were planted last year he would like relocated. He lives in Addison. After speaking with him on the phone a few times about the project, I agreed to help. I loaded the girls and we took a road trip to visit the planting site. Being a job out of town and the magnitude of the planting request, I didn’t want to arrive the day of the job blind and unprepared. Boy oh boy! Am I glad we did a pre site visit. What a beautiful home and location. What’s even better, the older Gentleman is one of the nicest human beings I have ever met. The girls fell in love with him. We got a great tour of his beautiful property. Stay tuned for the planting pictures…….

This morning we got to Install 4 magnificent eastern white pines. Beautiful, healthy, full trees. What was even better is this install was at a great clients house we got to revisit. We planted 6 red maples here last year. All 6 are doing wonderful. The icing on the cake was we got to use our nursery forks for the first time. What a game changer! Shout out to Josh King @ Dorrs Equipment for hooking us up!

Here is a Colorado Blue spruce we have recently tagged for a client. This tree is beautifully shaped, thick, full and healthy. But…..why isn’t it blue you may ask? This tree was grown in a soil that was too alkaline, meaning the p.h. Level in the soil was higher then this specie tree prefers. Although the tree grew healthy and hardy it lost its blue color that these species are known for. No worries! Easy fix! Just like adding lime can raise a ph level we can lower ph levels too. Adding the appropriate amount of soil acidifier to the drip ring of a existing tree or spiking holes in the soil around the tree ball and adding this product can bring back the magnificent blue of the Colorado blue spruce.
