πŸ¦ƒ Hosting this year? Your kitchen drain is about to put in its hardest shift of the year.

Three rules that can save your holiday:

πŸ₯« Grease goes in a can, not down the sink. It cools, hardens, and clings to your pipes.
πŸ₯” Potato peels and celery go in the trash, not the disposal. They turn into a starchy, stringy mess that clogs fast.
❄️ Run cold water, not hot, the whole time the disposal is on. Cold keeps any grease solid so it moves through instead of coating the line.

Kitchen sink already draining slow? Get it cleared before the guests arrive, not in the middle of dinner. 🍽️

MYTH BUSTING MONDAY πŸ”§

❌ Myth: "Flushable wipes are flushable."

βœ… Truth: They'll clear your toilet bowl, and that's about all "flushable" means. Unlike toilet paper, which starts falling apart within seconds, wipes are built to hold together. That's great for cleaning, and terrible for your pipes.

Once they're in the line, they don't dissolve. They travel until they catch on something, usually a joint, a root intrusion, or a rough spot that was already slowing things down. Then the next wipe catches on that one, and the next, and before long you've got a clog. 🚽

πŸͺ’ We've pulled full ropes of wipes out of homes where the owners swore they never flushed anything unusual. The package said flushable, so they believed it.

πŸ—‘οΈ Our advice? Trash can. Every time. Your pipes (and your wallet) will thank you.

Already dealing with a slow drain or backup? We can help.

When it breaks, it doesn't wait. 🚨

Burst pipe at 2am. Water heater quitting on a Sunday. Drain backing up an hour before company shows up.

You don't have to figure it out alone β€” you just need somebody to pick up.

πŸ”§ Tune-up: If your unit still has good years left, a tune-up keeps it that way. We flush the tank, check the anode rod, test the pressure relief valve, and make sure it's ready for the months when you need it most.

πŸ”₯ Upgrade: If it's getting up there in age, rusting, leaking, or just can't keep up anymore, it may be time for a new one. We'll walk you through your options, from a standard tank replacement to tankless, and help you pick what fits your home and budget.

Either way, we'll tell you honestly which one makes sense. No surprises, no upsell.

❌ Myth: "Flushing a water heater is optional if it's still making hot water."

βœ… Truth: Hot water coming out of the tap doesn't mean everything's fine inside the tank. Every day, minerals in your water settle to the bottom and build up as sediment, whether you notice it or not.

Over time, that layer insulates the burner from the water it's supposed to heat. Your water heater has to run longer and work harder to do the same job, which drives your energy bills up. That extra strain also wears the unit down faster and can shorten its life by years.

πŸ”Š Hearing popping, rumbling, or crackling from the tank? That's often sediment, and a sign it's time for a flush.

πŸ’‘ An annual flush is one of the cheapest things you can do to protect a tank you'd rather not replace early. It's quick, affordable, and a lot easier on the wallet than a new water heater.

πŸ› οΈ Ask us about a flush next time we're out, or give us a call to get one on the schedule.

πŸ‚ October in the River Valley is your window to get ahead of the cold. ❄️ Once that first hard freeze hits, small plumbing problems can turn into big ones overnight. Take 15 minutes this weekend, walk the house, and check these three things:

πŸ”₯ Your water heater. Check the age on the label, since most last 8 to 12 years. Then look at the pressure relief valve for drips, rust, or buildup.

🚿 Every outdoor hose bib. Disconnect the garden hoses, look for leaks or cracks, and make sure each one shuts off all the way.

πŸ”§ The shutoff valve under each sink. Give it a turn. If it's stuck, corroded, or weeping, it won't be there for you when you need it.

πŸ‘€ Find something you don't like? Call us now, while it's still a small job, and before the cold-weather rush. 🏠
