Ok so some things to think about when venting your dryer.

Placement of exit vent: the first picture is my view of a neighbors vent which had a small deck build over it. This made what should take me 5-10 of set up, turn into 20 minutes just to find it. (This picture was what I used to get my bush into the vent view finding through my phone)

Not having the proper vent cover on the exit introduces two easily preventable issues
1. Rain / moisture 💦 is able to enter the vent and the home - in this case the moisture reached the bottom bend of the vent making a place for lint to build up and settle in the bottom of the vent.

2. Pests entering your home / making residence in your dryer.🐁🐿️🐦🐙🐝🐛🐜🕷️🪳

I ended up having to disconnect the vent from the dryer and brush from the rear out. We found the next problem.😅

The vent was not properly secured to the exit fitting. For code, all vents must be secured by a minimum of 3 self tapping screws (full collar is acceptable). This one was just ... Placed in there?

Solution:
-Fit / pipe a vent on the front of the deck for ease of access to the cleaner.
- Self tapping screws to secure 🪛

Basement washer/dryers are difficult because they usually have longer vent hose runs and usually more than code bends to get out of the home.

When venting your dryer, you may have 1 right angle bend in your chase. 📐This is to allow cleaning without damage to your vent and to have less area for your vent to collect moisture and lint.
-Less bends is more! 📐

When was the last time you cleaned your dryer vent?⏳

I have never cleaned my vent (lived there almost 10 years)⌛

Suggested time to go between cleanings: 1 Month📆

You should clean your lint trap every load. Even if you are you are, your vent still collects all the micro fibers your trap doesn't.

This improves the efficiency of your dryer as well as prevents the possibility of a fire to your home. 🔥🙀
