This past year, we proudly completed a beautiful home in New Durham. Recently, we had the pleasure of returning to the property to enhance it further with the addition of a 20x20 pressure-treated deck at the back. To optimize the aesthetic appeal, we cleverly laid out the decking in four sections, effectively eliminating unsightly butt seams. We also ensured durability by opting to screw down the boards rather than nailing them. Regrettably, we missed the chance to capture a photo of the stunning mountain view that can be enjoyed while relaxing on the deck. It’s always a joy to create spaces where memories can be made!

We recently completed an exciting project for a valued repeat customer, transforming their deck into a stunning outdoor space. The original deck, measuring approximately 10x30 feet, had two different elevations that made arranging patio furniture a challenge. It featured aging first-generation Trex decking and a pergola that had seen better days.

After dismantling the old deck, we constructed a new, sleek 12x35 feet single-level deck. For this upgrade, we chose Aztek "Cypress" decking paired with hidden fasteners, enhancing the deck’s clean look. To ensure durability and visual appeal, we picture framed the decking into three sections, effectively minimizing the unsightly butt seams. These seams, if not managed properly, can lead to unattractive gaps as the composite material expands and contracts over time.

Our client also opted to remove the bump-out where a gas fireplace once stood, replacing it instead with a cozy pellet stove. Upon discovering that the entire back of the house needed residing, they decided to refresh the look with a new siding color: Mastic "Newport Bay." We can’t wait to share the final pictures in the coming weeks, as this project is truly one for the books!

After successfully completing the home in Barrington, we've now turned our attention to a cherished family summer camp in another part of Barrington. Last fall, a powerful microburst took down a 32-inch diameter pine tree, causing significant damage to this beloved 1950s structure. Our team is dedicated to restoring the camp to its original charm, embracing its rustic character.

Transitioning from projects where everything is meticulously level and plumb has been quite a challenge. Here, we’ve had to adapt our mindset, learning to navigate floors that can vary by three or more inches. Yet, our clients continuously remind us that these quirks are precisely what give the camp its unique charm and nostalgic appeal. We're excited to breathe new life into this treasured space!

Just as the finishing touches were being made to the elegant exterior, the excitement buzzed in the air for the grand reveal of the Barrington home. Movers swiftly unloaded their truck, bringing in the final pieces to complete this stunning residence. Spanning an impressive 3,600 sq ft, this house showcases a distinct feature: a Stiltz elevator, providing seamless access from the basement to the second floor, ensuring wheelchair accessibility throughout. Each room is bathed in natural light, thanks to oversized windows that create an inviting atmosphere. The exquisite interior painting was skillfully completed by C&R Painting of Dover, NH, while Wilder Flooring of Northwood, NH, delivered stunning flooring and tile work. Inside, you’ll be captivated by details such as a sweeping hardwood staircase adorned with an open balcony, elegant crown molding, and refined chair rails. With four generous bedrooms and 3 1/2 beautifully designed baths, this home is a true testament to luxury and thoughtful design.

It has been an eventful couple of weeks at the Barrington house! The rough-ins for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems have all been successfully completed, paving the way for the next phase of this exciting project. We’ve also finalized insulation, utilizing a blend of spray foam, fiberglass, and blown-in cellulose to ensure compliance with energy codes. Now, we’re set to start drywall installation next week, marking a significant step forward. Meanwhile, our dedicated siding team has made impressive strides despite the chilly weather. The home is taking on a beautiful Autumn Yellow hue from CertainTeed, complemented by GAF’s deep Hunter Green shingles atop the roof. Exciting progress all around!

Winter has certainly made its presence felt as it arrived early this year, bringing with it a flurry of activity on our end. While we’ve been deeply immersed in the Barrington project, we recently completed a remarkable kitchen transformation just in time for the holiday season. The family was able to host Thanksgiving in a beautifully revamped space that enhances both functionality and style.

We collaborated closely with our clients to redesign the kitchen layout, dramatically improving the flow and maximizing cabinet use. Previously, their stove was cramped in a corner with minimal counter space, and the corner cabinet was hardly usable. By relocating the fridge, we created the room needed to shift the stove and introduce a Super Susan corner cabinet, thus enhancing accessibility. The peninsula was replaced with a spacious island that offers additional cabinet storage and seating, making it a perfect hub for family gatherings.

We chose Wellborn Forest cabinets, opting for the Shelby door style in a stunning painted Arctic finish, while the island features a contrasting Malibu finish—adding depth to the overall design. To ensure a clean finish, taller upper cabinets were installed, complete with a flat molding reaching up to the ceiling. Revamping the layout also required redoing the flooring, which involved a meticulous demo and install process in both the kitchen and living room. Our partnership with Wilder Flooring guaranteed that everything ran smoothly, minimizing the time the family would be without their kitchen. Effective scheduling and solid relationships with subcontractors were vital to completing the project right before Thanksgiving.

We couldn’t be happier with the outcome, and are proud to have transformed this kitchen into a space where lasting memories will be made.
