Everybody’s mad at data centers again.
They use too much water!
They use too much power!
They don’t create jobs!
My brother’s cousins friend said their electric bill when up because of Data Center construction!
Billy Bob said the lake levels are falling quickly!
Meanwhile… you’re reading this on a phone connected to one.
Let’s calm down and talk facts:
Yes - data centers use electricity.
So does a steel mill.
So does a hospital.
So does your AC when it’s 92° in Ohio.
Infrastructure uses power. That’s kind of the point!
And water?
Most modern facilities run closed-loop systems. That means it’s engineered, controlled, and optimized - not just sprayed into the sky like decorative fountains at shopping malls, Disney Land, Government Buildings, etc.
But here’s what nobody talks about:
They fund grid upgrades
They anchor new generation projects
They create massive construction demand
They drive steel, fabrication, electrical, and fuel system work
That “big pink box” you’re mad at?
It keeps:
Manufacturing ERP systems running
Hospitals connected
Banks operating
AI tools processing
Logistics moving
You don’t notice infrastructure when it works.
You only notice when it fails.
Data centers are the railroads of this generation. You should begin educating yourself, rather than wasting time with your propaganda. You are nothing but “Headline Queens” looking for something to complain about and the internet does an excellent job exposing the foolish.
If America wants AI leadership, secure manufacturing, logistics and resilient power systems… somebody has to build the backbone.
