Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to work at Homestead Mulch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of machinery and equipment on site loading trucks, trailers with mulch, rock, dirt etc. Ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality in all tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of construction operations, mechanical systems, and the ability to work in dynamic environments. Also, will work in the store operating the register exchanging money and having great personal skills. Prior experience with loaders, skid steer operations and heavy equipment is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment including loaders, skid steers, and front loader trucks with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
Manage equipment such as dump trucks, farm machinery, as needed for various project requirements.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
Operating register exchanging money and talking with customers.
Follow detailed instructions from supervisors to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining a safe work environment.
Mow property and keep grounds clean on a regular basis.
Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance schedules.
Qualifications
Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steers, loaders, and similar machinery.
Knowledge of mechanical systems related to heavy equipment operation.
Construction site experience preferred; familiarity with safety standards and protocols is essential.
***Valid driver’s license is MANDATORY; experience with driving small dump trucks to dump sites, tight areas unloading product ***
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy loads safely.
Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
Certification or training in heavy equipment operation is advantageous but not mandatory for highly experienced candidates. Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
