My students will walk thru this door soon & I am so ready to see them! Iā€™ve spent the whole Summer prepping, planning and praying that this would be a place where they know they are welcomed and loved. That they can develop their gifts, that they can feel safe to make messes and mistakes, that they can explore ideas and feelings. This room has become my happy place and I canā€™t wait to share it with them. What a cool thing to be able to create, inspire, encourage, and support young mindsšŸ’•

I made STOOL SOCKS for my classroom! The stools I was given were in pretty rough shape- they were almost 20 years old, half of them had rickety metal backs that were always breaking and the kids were constantly tipping them over. Every morning I would come in and have to try to find the stools that were missing a tennis ball to put it back on. New seating was definitely not in the budget, so I decided to get creative and make do with what I had. With felt, zip ties and a 12ā€ dry erase circle, I completely transformed them! (I did end up adding some clear packing tape to hold down the dry erase circle so it would last a bit longer.) Now you can quickly and clearly identify which stool belongs at which table. (I originally got this idea from - go give her account a follow, she has SO MANY great classroom ideas and hacks!) Yay for no more tennis balls falling off chairs!

If you arenā€™t making huge crayons for your elementary Art classroom out of pool noodles, you really should stop and reevaluate your priorities! šŸ¤£ This idea for the color families was originally inspired by Cassie Stephens. I cut and covered giant cereal boxes for the Crayola boxes. Now students in my class can easily look up and reference primary, secondary, warm and cool colors.

Woke up to see that a reel i posted on instagram that had somehow hit 345k+ views in less than 24 hours. (Do we call that viral?). While most people would probably be excited, I was slightly annoyed. With all the cool art projects Iā€™ve been working on lately, it figures that the one that drew a crowd was literally just me duct taping marker sets together for my classroomšŸ¤£.
