Not every roof issue requires a full replacement.

Today we repaired a section of roof that was damaged by a fallen tree limb. The impact broke the decking underneath and damaged the shingles above. After locating the correct shingle to match the existing roof, we were able to make the repair while maintaining the appearance of the roof.

The repair included:

✔ Removing the damaged roofing materials
✔ Replacing the broken roof decking
✔ Installing ice and water shield
✔ Installing new starter strip
✔ Installing matching shingles
✔ Installing new cap shingles

Repairs done correctly go beyond what you can see from the ground. The shingles are important, but so is making sure the roof structure and waterproofing layers beneath them are restored properly.

Last night we received a call to come out and inspect a home after a tree limb struck part of the roof. From the ground and even at first glance on the roof, it looked like it might just need a simple repair with a few cap shingles replaced.

After taking the time to thoroughly inspect the area, we found the limb had actually broken the wood decking underneath the shingles as well. We were able to safely tarp the roof to prevent further damage and get the homeowner scheduled for the proper repairs.

Situations like this are exactly why it’s important to have your roof professionally inspected after storms or falling debris. What looks minor from the outside can turn into much more costly damage if it goes unnoticed.

What looked like a full shed replacement turned into a smart restoration project.

The roof was worn out, the corners had extensive rot, and the original doors were beyond saving. Instead of tearing the structure down, we replaced the damaged corners and rotted wood, installed a brand-new roofing system, and custom built new doors raised higher off the ground to allow clearance for a future accessibility ramp.

Newer roof but the chimney flashing was reused 🤦‍♂️

That is one of the most common shortcuts we see and one of the biggest causes of leaks down the line.

Not every “repair” actually fixes the problem.

Got a call today from a homeowner who had 6 box vents replaced just 2 days ago by another contractor. After last night’s rain, the leak was still there.

When I got up there, this is what I found 👇

This isn’t just a poor repair. It’s the kind of work that can create even bigger issues over time if it’s not addressed the right way.
