Personal Post Warning: Today was a big day for me. I went outside of what I’ve done before. I signed up and ran the quarter marathon downtown Baton Rouge. I’ve done several 5k in my lifetime, but never tried to do more. Long story short, i decided to push past those three miles and run the next thing which is the quarter. I’ve been working on getting my mileage up and ran 6 miles for the first time ever last week. On Tuesday I joined Happy’s Running Club and ran their Tuesday 5k and it KILLED me, which made me super nervous about today. I did all the things I was supposed to before the race and made sure I had calories and carbs yesterday and hydrated all day and night. I made it out to the race this morning and stood in the corral at the 12 min mile marker with all of the other “slower” racers. I felt good but you never know how it’s going to feel in a couple of miles. Now and durning the race all I felt was an overwhelming feeling of gratitude. I felt strong and capable and ran the whole thing. No walking. I’m grateful for this body, my health, my happiness. I’m grateful for the past, present and future. I’m grateful for divine sings of alignment that has lifted the veil and revealed to me what is possible in this life if only you dream it, want it and do it. I’m sitting in my car writing this…raw and tearful. So happy! If anyone wants to join me as a new or old runner, hit me up! I need running friends. Doesn’t matter if you’ve never ran before or if you’re a marathoner! I want to hear from you and I’d love to make a community of runners. JOIN ME!!
