It’s been a while since we have seen a good ❄️ snow event but they are saying it is coming!
Here are some tips to protect your yard and gardens:
* Cover tender plants: Use blankets, sheets, or frost cloths to cover plants, especially those that are more sensitive to cold. Make sure the covers reach the ground to trap warmth.
* Water your plants soil: Watering the soil before a freeze helps protect the roots and keeps the plants warmer. Do this by hand do not run the irrigation as it should be winterized now.
* Bring potted plants inside: If possible, bring any potted plants indoors or into a sheltered area.
* Mulch around the base: Adding a layer of mulch around your plants will help insulate the soil and protect the roots from freezing temperatures.
