From what started as a summer resort in the 1850s, then turned into to a hotel that mysteriously burned down, and then was rebuilt to a tuberculosis hospital that served Louisiana for decades- the Springs of Greenwell Springs has lived many lives.

Through fires, rebuilding, and even demolition, this historic site has stood as a quiet reminder of resilience. Now, it’s being restored so its story— and beauty — won’t be forgotten.

We’re honored to play a role in bringing life back to a place with such a powerful past.

The restoration isn’t finished yet, but here’s a glimpse of the incredible progress.

Firmin Construction Corporation is a general contractor based in Baton Rouge, LA. We are committed to providing a safe, clean, and productive working environment for our employees. We provide services to the following: commercial, industrial. and facility maintenance. We specialize in buildings (both new construction and renovations) Civil, and Structural projects. We take pride in our work and utilize the latest tools, equipment, and technology, combined with proper planning and our employees' talents to construct quality, purpose built buildings and infrastructure for our clients.

Role Description
This position is for a full-time on-site Industrial Carpenter. Most projects are 4-10s or 5-10s with occasional weekend work as required. You will be responsible for performing a variety of day-to-day tasks related to carpentry, such as Form work, both Symons forms and standard 2x forms, framing, finish carpentry, and using both power and hand tools. This role requires working on-site in Baton Rouge, LA and surrounding areas mostly South Louisiana. Hourly compensation based on knowledge provided in carpentry. 3% 401k match, Health insurance options available, PTO after one year of employment, and paid holidays.

Required Qualifications
-Carpentry, Framing, and Finish Carpentry skills
-Experience using power tools and hand tools
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
-Knowledge of construction safety procedures and regulations
-Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor
-Attention to detail and accuracy
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Prior experience in construction or a similar industry is a plus
-This position does require TWIC, Drug screen, and all necessary hand tools to perform job duties
