It is with sadness that I have to announce the closing of my business. I have enjoyed the last 16 years of attending to my customers needs and desires in bringing your dreams to life. I have met and become friends with so many people. But due to the passing of time, and some health issues brought on by my recent bout with COVID, I have decided to pursue another line of work. I have joined the team at one of my favorite suppliers; United States Lumber Company. So you can still see me about your building projects. I will just be assisting you with a different aspect of getting your job completed. Thanks for the memories.

Part time/temporary help wanted. Have a couple of larger jobs coming up, and could use some help. Experience prefered, but not necessary. Pay commensurate upon experience. Working hours are typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 - 6:00 PM, five days per week. Must have license and transportation. Must be willing and able to handle physically difficult labor. Job may or may not be 40 hours per week, and duration of employment depends on business activity beyond current load. Current business should maintain job through late fall, early winter. I did some work for some people about ten years ago. I have since been back on numerous occasions to do other work, and they have become friends. I met their son, "Hayden" when I first worked for them. He was about two years old and had been born with Downs Syndrome. In my return trips to do work, I have watched Hayden grow, and he is now 12 years old. He goes to Functional Kids Therapy here in Battle Creek, and became enamored with one of the therapy devices that they had him use in his sessions. My friends looked into what it would take to install the same device in their home, and decided to have me install one for them. The second picture is Hayden's first time on his therapy swing. Sometimes work can be very rewarding

Work has been a little challenging of late, so when a knowledgeable, demanding, yet fair building inspector gives you a compliment on a recently completed (well, almost completed, I have to wrap the two posts, but the owner wants me to do some additional work, so we decided to wait until that is done before wrapping the posts) project, it gives you a little lift. Price Perspective

It's unwise to pay too much,
but it's worse to pay too little.
When you pay to much,
you lose a little money ... that is all.
When you pay too little,
you sometimes lose everything
because the thing you bought
was incapable of doing
the thing it was bought to do.
The common law of business balance
prohibits paying a little and getting a lot...
it can't be done.
If you deal with the lowest bidder,
it is well to add something for the risk you run,
and if you do that you will have enough
to pay for something better.

Interesting and well said. I try to get people to understand this concept, but it's hard to get it across sometimes
