❄️TIPS FOR FREEZING LOCKS❄️

When a lock does freeze, try gently inserting a key coated with a small amount of de-icer, hand sanitizer, or petroleum jelly to melt the ice and unlock it; avoid using excessive heat or water on the lock as it can damage the mechanism.

Key points to remember:
🚨Avoid liquid lubricants:
While WD-40 might seem like a good option, it can attract dust and moisture, potentially worsening the issue in the long run.
🔑Warm the key:
If a lock is frozen, gently warm your key with your body heat or a hair dryer before inserting it.
🔑Use a de-icer:
Apply a small amount of de-icer specifically designed for locks to the keyhole.
🔑Petroleum jelly (Vaseline):
Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to your key and insert it into the lock.
🚨Do not use hot water:
Pouring hot water on a frozen lock can cause further damage by rapidly freezing again.
