✔ Seal while temps stay above 50°F
✔ Make sure water drains away, not into puddles

From "watch your step" to "welcome home." 🪜

These garden stairs had rotted treads, missing pieces, and soil washing out with every rain, which made them a real safety concern. We rebuilt them with new timbers and matched the corner to the new retaining wall, so the whole space flows together.

Before: Old timbers that had rotted, split, and grown moss after years of holding back the hillside.
During: Fresh timbers stacked and staggered, then spiked together for long-lasting strength.
After: A clean, solid wall that frames the garden beds, with fresh soil above and a tidy gravel path below. 🌿

A retaining wall does a lot of quiet work. When it starts to fail, so does everything around it. This one is ready for many more Hudson Valley seasons.
