Not all estimates are created equally!!

Before moving back to Beattie, I spent the last two years working as a project estimator for the same large company where I had been employed for eight years. In this position, I met with both residential and commercial customers onsite to evaluate their plumbing needs, often reviewing blueprints as part of the process. From Elementary school roof drain projects, New Sonics, or Starbucks, to replacing all the water and drain lines in an old 3 story old farm house. I would then use my knowledge of plumbing and onsite experience to compile material and labor costs and document them in a detailed written estimate, which became a work authorization contracts once clients chose to move forward.

An estimate is just as important as the work being done. It gives the customer piece of mind as to what they are purchasing. It holds the contractor responsible for the tasks they are charging for as well as payment terms from the customer to the contractor.

We are a brand-new plumbing business based in Beattie, KS, proudly serving all plumbing needs throughout Marshall and Nemaha counties. I recently relocated back to my hometown of Beattie after spending the last 10 years in Lincoln, NE, where I built 8 years of hands-on experience in the plumbing industry.

My skill set covers a wide range of services—from simple repairs to diagnosing and resolving complex plumbing issues. I am experienced in reading blueprints, preparing accurate time-and-material estimates, and performing underground plumbing repairs. For three years, I specialized exclusively in excavating and repairing water and sewer lines.

In addition to plumbing, I bring carpentry experience and specialized training in ADA shower installations, including working with various shower fixtures, grab bars, shower seats, and complete shower kits.

About Bob, owner and Operator of O’Neil Plumbing

I am married to my high school sweetheart Lindsey and have four beautiful children; Claire (7) Graham (5) Madison (3) Grace (2 months)

I am a native of Beattie, KS, and a 2010 graduate of Marysville High School. After high school, I attended SCC and earned a degree in Auto Technology. I worked close to home for a time, but eventually decided to move to Lincoln, NE, in search of better employment opportunities.

After working at Anderson Ford for two years, I realized the automotive industry wasn’t the right niche for me. I then accepted a Plumbing Apprenticeship with a large, family-owned plumbing, heating, and air company. The apprenticeship was competitive, and advancement depended on hard work and skill. I progressed quickly through each stage—warehouse delivery (grunt work), excavation and ditch labor, construction plumbing, drain work, and service repair plumbing. I discovered that excavation was my favorite area, and I eventually became the lead excavation operator, performing every type of underground repair. These ranged from simple sewer and water line fixes to 22-foot-deep sewer repairs and even a 44-hour shift repairing broken water mains inside the state penitentiary.

I also gained experience in new commercial construction, reading blueprints and plumbing commercial buildings like those Starbucks my wife so enjoys. Plumbing came naturally to me, and I truly enjoy the work. One of the best aspects of the job was the guys I worked with, I learned a lot from the more seasoned techs. It was a group of guys that only wanted the best for one another. Talk about a great place to learn a skill, when you have so many guys you can lean on when you are in a jamb. We had some great leaders as well, giving us guidance and training to become the best of the best and take pride in everything we did.

For the past 2.5 years, I served exclusively as a plumbing estimator, assessing a wide range of situations, determining repair options, and preparing time-and-material estimates for customers both residential and commercial—something I excelled at. Helping find solutions to problems is one of my favorite things to do, and if I can help make a customers day better at the same time. Well thats a win win!

After a rewarding eight-year career in Lincoln, I felt it was time to return to Marshall County to raise our kids the way we were raised. We are loving every minute of being back in Beattie, and I’m excited to begin this new venture serving Marshall and Nemaha County.

Cabling a drain may seem like a simple task, but it requires proper technique to do it correctly. We have multiple sizes of machines to handle the job right—from small drain snakes for washer and bathroom sink drains, to 3/8” cables for kitchen sinks and floor drains, all the way up to 5/8”, 175’ sewer cable machines for major sewer line backups. For larger drains, we offer free camera inspections after the line is cleared to ensure the clog has been removed and to identify what is could be causing the backups. As well as the ability to use frequency locators to locate the camera underground if a bad spot is seen during camera inspection.
