It's been a busy week for us in the Lowcountry!

This demo project required us to remove thousands of pounds of stone from in and around the pond, as well as a stone patio.

In addition we are in the process of filling and grading over 21,000 lbs of fill dirt by shovel and wheelbarrow due to location restrictions.

SCDNR NEWS RELEASE

For those of us who keep Koi or have watergardens as well as anyone who enjoys the use of our natural waterways, ponds, lakes, rivers and streams,

It is a priority of ours to educate the public on invasive plants and animals that have a major impact on our hobby as well as our natural landscape that surrounds us in the Lowcountry.

This includes doing our part in limiting the risk of of deteriorating our natural habitats around us by ensuring that ALL living organisms in our personal and proffesional enclosures are not invasive, or nuisance species, and are disease free.

There is NO variety or species of Koi, Goldfish, or ANY other ornamental fish that can survive and thrive in our local ecosystem or anywhere in the "wild" without drastically effecting it negatively. While many of these types of fish, and more so invasive plants can be found in many of our waterways it is up to us to effectively combat these issues and protect our environment and local ecosystems.

Whether you are a resident of SC or you live in another place please take a proactive step and review the SCDNR and SC Aquatic Plant Management Councils plan for the 2023 year and consider providing your own comments with the information found below!
