We are so thrilled to hear that this beloved Lowcountry landmark is making a comeback! 🍫❤️
The Chocolate Tree was a cherished part of our community for 45 years before closing its doors in May 2025. Founded in 1980 by Pat Green as a hobby, what started as sharing homemade chocolates and candies with friends and family grew into a true Lowcountry institution.
Over the decades, The Chocolate Tree became famous for its handcrafted chocolates, peanut brittle, homemade fudge, and seasonal treats. It even played a small part in movie history, providing the iconic box of chocolates used in the filming of Forrest Gump.
For generations of Beaufort residents and visitors alike, a trip to The Chocolate Tree was a tradition. We are excited to see this piece of Lowcountry history return and cannot wait to walk through those doors again in the near future!
Welcome back, Chocolate Tree! 🍫🎉
After being closed for over a year, we're so excited to see Beaufort's favorite candy maker will be reopening after a few changes are made. 👏👏👏
