Check out one of our recent projects in the Beaufort Club 👀
For this bed, we installed medium white-washed river rock to give the landscaping a clean, finished look.
Why river rock instead of mulch?
River rock typically has a higher upfront cost, but it often becomes more cost-effective over time because it doesn’t break down or need to be replaced each year. It also creates a crisp, decorative look that really elevates curb appeal.
Mulch, on the other hand, is more affordable initially but usually needs to be refreshed every year or two as it decomposes. The benefit? It helps retain soil moisture, protect plant roots, and naturally add nutrients back into the soil.
Both have their advantages—it really depends on your goals, plants, and maintenance preferences.
Which do you prefer for landscaping beds: river rock or mulch?
