SEPTEMBER STAFF SPOTLIGHT: HAYDEN ⚡
This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Hayden as he celebrates an incredible milestone—10 years with Steele Electric!

Hayden joined Steele at just 20 years old without any electrical experience or a clear idea of what he wanted to do professionally.
“I didn’t know a single thing about electrical, but Dan took a chance on me. It means a lot that he helped me find a steady career that allows me to provide for my family. I’ve spent my entire 20s at Steele, and I plan to spend my 30s, 40s and possibly even my 50s here.”

Over the past decade, Hayden has worked on projects throughout Oregon and Washington—from Oak Harbor, WA (way up North) all the way down South to Phoenix, OR—and is proud of the Steele mark he has helped leave across both states.

Every job brings opportunities to learn and grow, but the past six months have put Hayden to the test while managing an especially challenging project. Between constant changes, expedited timelines and the daily pressure of keeping everything moving, he has continued to step up, adapt and push the project forward.

Outside of work, Hayden and his wife, Katie, are preparing for the arrival of their son, Walker, this month!
They also have two golden retrievers, Cooper and Callie.
In his free time, Hayden enjoys camping, remodeling their house, taking the side-by-side to the dunes and working on his 1978 Ford F-100.

Hayden’s favorite part of working at Steele is the camaraderie he has built with his coworkers and work family over the years.
“When you get hired here, you don’t want to go anywhere else.”

Congratulations on 10 years with Steele and the upcoming arrival of baby Walker!
We’re grateful for everything you’ve contributed and look forward to seeing what the next decade brings!

Reaching new heights—safely! 🦺⚡

Our entire team recently came together for hands-on lift training, giving everyone the opportunity to refresh their skills and become more familiar with the equipment we regularly use on our job sites.

From proper setup and operation to hazard awareness, inspections, and emergency procedures, the training reinforced the importance of knowing the equipment and using it correctly every time. Whether someone operates a lift regularly or only occasionally, keeping those skills fresh helps ensure everyone can work confidently, efficiently, and—most importantly—safely.

A big shoutout and thank-you to C & E Rentals for providing the lifts and helping make this valuable training possible. We truly appreciate your continued partnership and support of our team!

At Steele Electric, safety isn’t just a requirement—it’s a responsibility we all share. Taking the time to train together helps us stay prepared, look out for one another, and make sure everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.

Two months of hard work—and the new Hoodland Fire District #74 Main Station is beginning to take shape! 🚧⚡

INLINE Commercial Construction has kept the site moving by clearing trees, crushing rock, hauling gravel, building the foundation walls, and preparing the site for concrete.

At the same time, our Steele Electric crews have been busy below ground—installing, routing, and carefully laying out the extensive conduit systems that will serve the station.
As the photos show, there is a lot that must be coordinated and completed before the concrete is poured and this work disappears beneath the finished building.

It’s exciting to look back at where the site started and see how much progress has been made in just two months.
A big shoutout to our crew for their hard work, attention to detail, and teamwork through this important phase of the project.

The underground work is wrapping up, the foundation is taking shape, and we’re ready for the next stage of construction!

📸 Follow along as we continue helping bring the new Main Fire Station to life.

Two years.

It hardly seems possible that this August marks two years since we lost our founder, Dan Steele.
August will always hold two significant dates for us—his birthday and the day we said goodbye. It feels only right to once again dedicate this month’s spotlight to the man whose vision, values, and work ethic continue to shape Steele Electric every single day.

Dan wasn’t just the founder of Steele Electric—he was the heart behind it.

He believed there was a right way to do things: tell the truth, work hard, solve the problem, and always take care of people. Whether you were family, a customer, an employee, or someone he’d just met, he made you feel like you mattered.

He was the kind of leader who expected excellence because he gave nothing less himself. If something was worth doing, it was worth doing 100%. And somehow, even on the toughest days, he’d still find a way to make everyone laugh with one of his legendary dad jokes.

Two years later, his absence is still deeply felt. We still catch ourselves saying, “Dan would’ve known what to do,” or wondering what joke he’d make in a particular moment. While time has moved forward, the impact he made hasn’t faded.

In fact, it’s grown.

His first grandson, Daniel, was born the day before the one year anniversary of his passing. A daily reminder that while life changes, love and legacy continue.

At Steele Electric, we continue to build on the foundation he laid. Every project we complete, every customer we serve, and every member of our team who carries forward his values is part of the legacy he started.

We miss him every day.

We honor him in the way we work.

And we’ll keep carrying forward what he built—with integrity, hard work, and the belief that people always come first.

Thank you, Dan, for showing us what it means to give your all.

We’ll keep doing our best to make you proud.

🔦 Staff Spotlight | July: Kyler Karn

This month, we’re excited to spotlight Kyler, a Limited Energy Apprentice on our Technology team!

Before joining Steele Electric, he worked as a self-employed contractor installing devices in fleet vehicles. When he realized there wasn’t much opportunity to expand his knowledge or advance his career, conversations with some friends who work at Steele introduced him to the low-voltage industry—and it turned out to be exactly what he was looking for.

One of his favorite things about Steele is the people. Whether they work in low or high voltage, the team is always willing to lend a hand or answer a question.

Since joining the team, Kyler has learned the importance of asking questions—something that hasn’t always come naturally to him. He’s genuinely interested in the work, wants to understand how things operate, and is always eager to learn more.
His work with Steele has taken him to communities throughout Oregon, including Government Camp, Hermiston, Ontario, and Lincoln City.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Halle, whom he has been dating for 3½ years, and their puppy, Poppy, who turns one on August 6th! He also loves music, discovering new artists, building speakers, traveling, and spending time at the river or in the mountains.
His travels have taken him to Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, and even South Korea!

When asked what people should know about Steele Electric, Kyler said it best:
“Steele has dependable guys who show up and get things done the right way.”

Kyler, we’re glad to have you as part of the Steele Electric team! ⚡️

🌅 Is it just us, or have the Oregon sunrises and sunsets been absolutely incredible lately?
One of the perks of being on the road before sunrise and wrapping up as the sun goes down is getting to experience views like this. Whether we're heading to a jobsite or finishing another day of powering homes, businesses, and communities, moments like these are a great reminder to slow down and appreciate the beauty around us.
To our field crews who get to witness these amazing skies day in and day out—thanks for sharing them with us and for everything you do.
Here's to another day of hard work, safe travels, and unforgettable views. ⚡
📸 Have you captured an amazing sunrise or sunset lately? We'd love to see it—share it in the comments!

🔦 Staff Spotlight | May & June: Steele Electric Service Department

This month, we're proud to introduce two members of our Service Department: Trevor and Alan.

Our Service Department plays a unique role at Steele Electric. While much of our team works on large commercial and industrial projects alongside general contractors, our service technicians are often the face of our company—working directly with homeowners and business owners, solving problems, and building lasting relationships within our community.

⚡ Meet Trevor
When Trevor isn't helping customers with their electrical needs, you'll likely find him working on or racing RC cars. He and his wife, Sh'Tara, have been married for nine years and enjoy paddleboarding, camping, traveling, and spending time with friends. They also love taking their 8½-year-old Border Collie, Karsyn, to the beach to chase seagulls and enjoy the Oregon coast.
Trevor was drawn to Steele Electric because he already knew several team members and saw opportunities for career growth and expanding his electrical knowledge. Once he joined the company, it was the people and positive atmosphere that confirmed he had made the right choice.
"What I like most about working here is that the company truly cares for its employees. We're not just a number. Concerns are heard, and the company does what it can to support its people."
Trevor regularly serves customers throughout the region, traveling from Salem and Woodburn to Vancouver, Camas, and Washougal to keep homes and businesses powered safely and efficiently.

⚡ Meet Alan
Alan is a proud dad to his 13-year-old son, Jackson, and dog dad to his 12-year-old Pit Lab, Lugg. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring the Tillamook Forest and other outdoor destinations, working on cars, Jeep adventures, hiking, shooting sports, and discovering new places throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Although he's done plenty of traveling over the years, these days Alan prefers staying closer to home and spending time with his girlfriend, family, and friends.
What drew Alan to Steele Electric? Family. His brother, Dan, encouraged him to join the team, and he's been a valued member ever since.
His favorite part about working here is simple: "My Steele Electric family."
One of Alan's proudest accomplishments is helping customers get things working again and seeing their satisfaction when a problem is solved.
He also wants people to know just how knowledgeable, experienced, and talented the Steele Electric team is when it comes to electrical work.

👏 Thank you, Trevor and Alan, for representing Steele Electric every day through your hard work, professionalism, and commitment to our customers. We're grateful to have you both on the team!
