We’re excited to have played a part in preserving this beautiful 1905 home in Old Southwest.
A big shoutout to Lift Arc Studios LLC for custom fabricating new mounts for the decorative roof finials. The original mounts had endured more than 120 years of weather and were finally rusted beyond reuse.
We were also able to source era-specific matching roll metal from K&M Sheet Metal in North Carolina. Like the finial mounts, much of the original metalwork had seen more than a century of weathering, repairs, removals, and re-installations.
For the roofing system, we installed new black metal valleys and GAF - Roofing Slateline shingles in Antique Slate to replace the existing worn designer shingles while maintaining a look that complements the historic character of the home.
Roofing historic homes isabout finding the right materials, working with talented craftsmen, and preserving the architectural details that have already lasted generations.
