🚨 Grass Supply Update for Our Customers - 6/16/26🚨

As many of you have seen, South Texas has been experiencing extremely wet weather conditions, and forecasts are calling for even more rain in the coming days. In addition, meteorologists are closely monitoring a developing tropical system in the Gulf that could strengthen into a tropical storm and bring significant rainfall, flooding, and strong winds to portions of the Texas coast this week. Some areas are expected to receive several inches of rain, with localized flooding already becoming a concern.

Unfortunately, these weather conditions are impacting grass farms and harvesting operations across South Texas, causing delays in grass availability and supply. When fields become too wet, harvesting equipment cannot safely operate without damaging the turf, which means deliveries and inventory may be limited until conditions improve.

We strongly encourage customers to call and place their orders now. Customers with existing orders will be at the top of our contact list and will be among the first people we notify once fresh grass becomes available again.

🌱PROTECT YOUR NEW SOD BEFORE PROBLEMS START!🌱

💧New sod needs extra attention during establishment, especially with the warm temperatures, humidity, and frequent watering we see this time of year. These conditions can create the perfect environment for fungal diseases to develop. ☀️

The most common issues we see in newly installed sod include:

🍂 Brown Patch – Circular brown areas that can spread quickly during hot, humid weather. (Most common in St Augustine's)

🕸️ Large Patch – Often appears as yellowing or thinning grass that expands into large circles.

We’ve been made aware of an increase in online scams involving grass sales, especially on social media platforms.

Here’s what to watch for:
🚩 The “seller” only communicates through Facebook Messenger
🚩 They promise grass at extremely low prices that are far below normal for the DFW market
🚩 They push for quick payment using non-refundable methods like Zelle, Venmo, or Cash App
🚩 Once payment is sent, they disappear or never deliver

‼️ Reputable sod companies do not operate this way.

📍 We want to be clear — we’re not posting this to justify anyone’s pricing. We’re sharing this to help protect our community. These scams are designed to look like great deals, but they often leave people stuck out of their hard-earned money.

🌦️Rain, rain and more rain - fungus concern!🌦️

DFW’s warm climate + steady rain = ideal fungal conditions. When your lawn stays wet for long periods (overnight and into the next day), fungal spores get the green light to grow and spread.

Things that make it worse:
Poor drainage 💧
Compacted soil 🧱
Overwatering 🚿

Main fungus concerns to look for - especially in St Augustine's
📌Brown patch (Rhizoctonia)
Circular or irregular brown patches
Yellowing edges (“smoke ring” look)
Spreads quickly after rainy, mild weather
Can expand fast if not treated

📌Take-all root rot
Grass turns yellow → then thins out
Weak, dark roots underground
