If your garbage disposal is not turning and just humming, maybe it's stuck. Look for the allen wrench that may be taped to the side of the disposal then look under the disposal where the wrench can be inserted and give it a turn or two. Hopefully that will have it running like new.

If it's still not working at all, it may be time for a new one, give us a call for an estimate on replacing it.

We do jobs the big guys don't want to do!

Garbage disposals can often develop unpleasant odors due to food particles that have become trapped and begin to decompose. Here are a few steps you can take to remove odors from your garbage disposal:
1. Run hot water - Start by running hot water down the drain for at least 30 seconds. This will help flush out any loose debris in the disposal and help to clean the blades.
2. Cut up a lemon - Cut a fresh lemon into small pieces, and drop them down the disposal. Turn on the water and run the disposal for 30 seconds to a minute. The acid from the lemon will help to break down any stuck-on food particles and eliminate odors.
3. Use baking soda and vinegar - Another effective method is to sprinkle baking soda down the disposal followed by a cup of vinegar. Let the mixture sit for 10-15 minutes, then run hot water down the drain to flush everything away.
4. Ice cubes and salt - Drop a few ice cubes and a tablespoon of coarse salt down the disposal. Turn on the water and run the disposal until the ice is gone. The ice and salt will help to dislodge any food particles that have become stuck and will also help to sharpen the blades.
5. Use a commercial cleaner - There are also a variety of commercial garbage disposal cleaners available that can help eliminate odors and clean the disposal. Follow the instructions on the packaging carefully.

By following these steps, you should be able to remove odors from your garbage disposal and keep it smelling fresh and clean. Remember to always run the disposal with cold water, and never put non-food items down the drain.

If you have hard water in your home, you might be familiar with the stubborn stains it can leave behind in your toilet bowl. These stains can be difficult to remove with traditional cleaning methods, but there's a simple solution: a pumice stone.

Pumice is a volcanic rock that is naturally abrasive, making it an excellent tool for cleaning tough stains. When used on your toilet bowl, a pumice stone can effectively remove hard water stains without scratching the surface of your toilet.
To use a pumice stone, first, make sure your toilet bowl is empty of water. You can do this by turning off the water supply to the toilet and flushing it until all the water is gone. Next, wet the pumice stone and gently rub it over the stained areas in your toilet bowl. You should see the stains start to disappear as you work.

It's essential to use caution when using a pumice stone on your toilet bowl. While it's gentle enough not to scratch the surface, applying too much pressure or using it on a dry surface can cause damage. Make sure to keep the pumice stone wet and work slowly and carefully.

Once you've finished cleaning your toilet bowl with the pumice stone, flush the toilet to rinse away any residue. You can also sanitize the bowl by using a disinfectant cleaner and a brush.
In addition to being an effective tool for cleaning hard water stains, pumice stones are also eco-friendly and chemical-free. They're a great addition to any cleaning arsenal and can be used on other surfaces, such as sinks and shower stalls, to remove stubborn stains.

In conclusion, using a pumice stone to clean hard water stains from your toilet is an easy and effective solution. With a little care and attention, you can restore your toilet bowl to its original shine without the need for harsh chemicals.

Scouring Stick can be found at your local Walmart.

Did you know that changing your furnace filter regularly is an important part of maintaining a healthy and efficient home? Furnace filters help to improve your indoor air quality, increase energy efficiency, and extend the lifespan of your furnace.

Here are a few reasons why you should change your furnace filter regularly:

Improved Air Quality: A clean furnace filter traps airborne particles such as dust, pollen, and pet dander, preventing them from circulating throughout your home. Regularly changing your filter can improve indoor air quality, which is especially important for those with allergies or respiratory issues.

Increased Energy Efficiency: A dirty filter restricts air flow, which causes your furnace to work harder to maintain the desired temperature in your home. This not only increases your energy bill but also puts unnecessary strain on your furnace.
Prolonged Furnace Lifespan: Changing your filter regularly can help prevent your furnace from overheating and breaking down, which can be expensive to repair or replace.

So, when was the last time you changed your furnace filter? Check your filter and if it looks dirty or clogged, it's time for a replacement. Don't forget to regularly change your filter every 1-3 months to ensure that your furnace is functioning at its best.
