The great Zinnia debate! 🌺🌼🌸😬
It's August. It's hot. The warm season annuals are cranking out the blooms and that can only mean one thing, THAT infamous flower. Ohh, how she is both loved and hated. She brings most of us memories of bright and almost obnoxious color when her name is mentioned. The flower I swore I hated and would NEVER grow in my garden has somehow won over my heart. She truly is the workhorse of the summer garden and that means a whole lot when you are trying to fill orders. New varieties have softened her palette and lessened her "Roseanne" type of personality and likened her to a more gentile "Caroline Ingalls" if you will. 😄😜Though I still appreciate the boldness of some varieties like the Benary's Series, I've fell completely in love with the Queeny and Oklahoma varieties. So, what do you guys think? Love her or hate her? Let me know down below! 👇

"Dirt-Billies" was a nickname my husband and I affectionately called all three of our feral children when they were youngins. We all know it's good for kiddos to get their hands dirty, so why not make it fun! We can't wait to see you and all your littles at the farmhouse!

Baby in Bloom!🌸That was the theme for this sweet baby shower over the weekend and we were so excited to provide the flowers for their "Bloom Bar"! We tied adorable little seed packets to the jars with twine and filled them with seeds we had harvested and saved from last year's crop. The mama to be and her guests truly had a "BALL" (pun intended 😉) arranging their own bouquets. It could not have turned out any cuter. On to the next one! 💐

Surprise! That's all my husband could manage to say when he called me on the phone a little over two weeks ago. He stammered the words "So, umm, we have a situation." 🤔😆 To our astonishment this sweet and sassy girl hatched five new baby chicks! We were amazed and certainly perplexed by where they had come from as we had been clearing the coop of eggs for weeks and weeks. Now, we have had hens make nests on every corner of our property, so it isn't uncommon to find them sitting well, anywhere. However, this little mama sure was stealthy and (we bet) she tucked those little nuggets away under the pine tree in our front yard. Our clue? Mommy and babies high tail it there every morning when the door to the coop opens. Aww! 🥰 Little blessings like this really do flood my heart with the most abundant joy. It reassures me that miracles happen every day, no matter how big or how small. 🥰🐥💛

We are OPEN!! Yay!! We will be open everyday 9am until dark. Come cut your own flowers or arrange your own bouquet at our “Build Your Own Bouquet” station. It is located along our fence facing the farmstand. Grab a snack or drink from the fridge and hang out a while. We can’t wait to see you!
