Front-load washers generally do a better job at washing, as well as spinning your clothes dry. They are more gentle on your clothes when working properly, will do a better deep clean than most modern top-load washers, and saves energy by reducing dry time in the dryer. However, they are also a bit high maintenance and bad odors inside is a very common problem. The most important things you can do to prevent bad odors in your machine are leaving the door open and using the proper amount and type of detergent.

Leaving the door open (especially after finishing a cycle) allows the moisture inside to evaporate. Otherwise it will stagnate and start to mildew and mold.

Detergent is also very important. HE (high efficiency) detergents are formulated to not "suds" up during the wash. But not all HE detergents are created equal. All natural as well as cheaper brands typically suds up more than tide will. You should see soapy water in the wash cycle, not a thick layer of white suds. Only 2-3 tablespoons of detergent are needed for a full load of laundry and excessive detergent can also cause sudsing. Not only can suds built up in the machine start to rot and smell, it can cause malfunctions.

Don't forget to clean your refrigerator condensor. A dirty condensor is the most common cause of cooling problems or failures. The condensor should be cleaned 1-2 times per year.

Unlike old refrigerators, condensors are often located under the refrigerator or in the back behind the panel. We can clean it for you for $159.

For $45 you can have a 15 minute video conference to assess the situation and answer any questions you may have. If after the consultation you still need us to come out to complete the repair, the full $45 will be credited towards your repair.
The second is our flexible scheduling. We are able to offer evening or weekend appointments when booked in advance. There is an additional $50 fee for this convenience, however compared to the cost of missing work or other obligations this may be a good option for you.
