This chimney was almost 6 inches out of plum leaning towards the house. It had to be rebuilt down to the roof line. We replaced the flashing and changed the shoulders to bluestone slabs which will be more effective at shedding water.

A couple bluestone jobs from this spring showcasing the two styles of bluestone. The steps are machine cut and thermaled with an acetylene torch giving a beautiful deep blue, uniform look. The patio is natural cleft which is split and shaped leaving its natural variation of color and texture intact. Both products have gorgeous results and the two give you the choice to fit your personal taste.

Salt fretting is the process in which salt or icemelt dissolves in water where it works it’s way into the pores of your masonry and recrystallizes causing flaky, crumbling mortar. This is mitigated by sparingly using magnesium oxide icemelt and can be completely prevented by water-sealing masonry products.
