Even new construction homes can develop dangerous moisture conditions before the build is complete.

Our team is continuing mold remediation work at this waterfront new construction home in Shelter Island, NY after elevated moisture conditions and mold growth were discovered throughout portions of the crawlspace.

After arriving on site, the team quickly:

A Great Night Supporting The Community In Westhampton

Last week, the team at K.O.S. Restoration was proud to participate as a Silver Sponsor for the Rotary International community event held at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center.

It was a great night bringing members of the community together while supporting organizations and initiatives that make a real impact both locally and worldwide.

Rotary’s work includes humanitarian service, youth leadership programs, education initiatives, clean water projects, community development, and continued efforts toward disease eradication.

As a locally owned company serving Long Island since 2006, we’re grateful for opportunities to support events and organizations that help strengthen the communities we work in every day.

This is what a corroded pipe looks like after it fails inside your wall — and this is what the moisture reading looks like when it does.

This Long Island homeowner had no idea how much water had already spread through the wall cavity, the subfloor, and the framing by the time we arrived.

That is how this kind of damage works. It moves silently, and by the time you see a sign — soft drywall, a musty smell, paint starting to bubble — the problem is already deep.

Here is what we did:

We moisture-mapped the entire affected area before touching anything. We opened the walls, removed everything that could not be dried in place, installed containment barriers, and set up commercial air movers and a Dri-Eaz LGR dehumidifier to pull moisture out of the structure continuously.

Then we monitored daily until every reading came back to acceptable levels.

This is what professional water damage restoration looks like on Long Island. Not a fan from the hardware store. Not covering it up and hoping for the best.
