As we get closer to our extremely busy season helping hunters recover their game, we wanted to put some information out there about what we do.
Although we are very efficient with a high success rate of finding deer others cannot by using other means, drones are not perfect for every sitiuation. We locate downed game by using our state of the art thermal cameras and can find it difficult to pick out heat signatures with clear skys and hot weather. In situations when a deer is shot in the morning on a hot day, a dog may be a better option.
If the day is cool, cloudy, rainy, or we have the option to fly at night/early morning w/o worrying about meat spoilage, it is hard to beat a drone. We can have successfully recovered game 48-72 hours after the shot. We can fly almost anywhere without the risk of not being able to track across a property line. Once game has been located and determined recovery is possible, this information can be taken to the landowner in hopes of them allowing recovery of the animal. We have noticed landowners much more willing to let a hunter recover their game when they can show them pictures, coordinates, and walk directly to the downed animal.
We can find animals that travel into waterways, lakes, rivers, and creeks.
Your valuable time is not wasted “grid searching” the property at the same time spreading scent everywhere and pushing out every animal on the property. We can cover square miles in the matter of a hour or two without bumping deer. Drones for recovery do not affect whitetail behavior.
You can call us anytime 608-921-0097 and we can discuss the situation and we can give you an honest opinion of what your next step to be as to not loose your game!
Use your best judgement before beginning the blood trail and when in doubt, back out.
We have also partnered up with AeroPulse Drones to make sure we can offer the best service in the southern Wisconsin area!
