REPORTS TO: Branch Operations Manager

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides leadership and guidance on job sites to complete installation and removal of materials by maintaining safety, accountability, punctuality, and efficiency. Crew Leader will embrace and utilize technology, work closely with customer on site, to ensure the client’s needs and expectations are met, and protect the company’s assets. In addition, they will be required to perform walk throughs with site contacts prior to start, installation of fence materials on site, loading and unloading trucks as well as teardown and pick-up of materials on jobs sites.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following reflects the essential functions for this job.

-Provide leadership and guidance to safely complete installation and breakdown of fence material
-Perform walk throughs prior to start with customer and resolve customer issues on job site promptly and to the customer’s satisfaction and report back to Crew Manager
-Work with Crew Manager to assist in training new crew members
-Use tablet to complete work orders/review job instructions and layout
-Use tablet to properly document for missing/damaged material and create change orders
-Deliver materials to customer location in a timely, safe, and courteous manner
-Follow delivery/pickup instructions from Crew Manager/Logistics Manager/Sales Team
-Loading and unloading trucks with a forklift or by hand and securing load on truck
-Use hand and pneumatic tools to install or remove material
-Actively works to improve standards and participate in Lean projects
-Learn and understand all SONCO Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Policies
-Learn, understand, and adhere to all safety policies, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT requirements
-Maintain driver logs and complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tablet
Report mileage and fuel usage on tablet
-Maintain Equipment/Tools/Inventory
-Maintain appearance of truck inside and out along with organized toolboxes
-Contribute in the yard when required
-Perform any other duties as assigned by Management

QUALIFICATIONS:
-High school diploma or equivalent preferred
-Experience leading job sites and crews preferred
-Comfortable with handheld tablets for job documentation /able to learn new programs

-Demonstrate an ability to lead a crew on a job/event site
-Be an example of leadership and treat other team members with respect
-Come into work every day with a positive attitude
-Treat all fellow workers and customers with respect
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Must be reliable and punctual
-Must possess problem solving skills
-Must be a person of high integrity

Technical Certifications and Skills
-Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
-Must have strong understanding of the rules of the road, including DOT regulations, laws and safety rules to ensure trucks are safe and in compliance at all times
-Experience with Electronic Driving Logs a plus
-Experience with Electronic Delivery programs a plus
-Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for employment
-Ability to obtain forklift certification. Company will provide training
-Ability to obtain clearance for military and secure locations
-Ability to obtain an OSHA 10 card
-May require Class A or B CDL license. If Class A is needed, experience is required

The responsibilities of an installer is to setup and take down temporary fencing and barricades at job sites. Ensuring that fencing and other materials are setup to customer specifications in a safe and quality manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

- Assist drivers with checking loads to ensure that truck has all material (fence panels, poles, etc.) and tools needed
- Loading, unloading trucks and carrying fence panels and materials to job site
- Use hand tools and pneumatic tools to set fence in place
- Install material/assets per customer specifications
- Remove material/assets from job site and safely load trucks
- Operate forklift for loading and unloading and moving material/assets
- Follow all established safety rules and regulations
- Participates in quality improvement efforts

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, and adhere to safety guidelines preferably in English
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 80lbs on a consistent basis
- Capable of operating various hand tools safely
- May require forklift certification. Company will provide training

The Boston Marathon is back… and we were there!
SONCO Rental was proud to be part of the 125th Boston Marathon which was back with a bang after being cancelled for the first time ever in 2020 due to the pandemic. Over 18,000 runners took part in front of cheering crowds. Crowd safety was a key concern as always and SONCO Rentals played our part by supplying and installing steel bike rack barricades along the 26.2 mile route to ensure the safety of runners and onlookers alike.
