Correct way to paint a chimney and mantle. Prep is so important. Mask, dust rocks, sand mantle, vacuum or sweep away all dust, prime rocks and mantel with high bonding primer. Cover mantel, spray chimney with two coats of paint in desired sheen, we used flat in Shoji White, Sherwin Williams 7042. When that is dry, paint the mantel. It’s a good idea to mask around in case the black drips. We used Tricorn Black Sherwin Williams 6258.

This is the correct way to paint doors. If you don’t have a spray room, make one. Clean the room well, make a plastic tent, vacuum all particles, sand doors slightly, wipe away all dust, vacuum again and spray two coats all sides. It takes time, but done right you won’t have a door with little particles all over. Apollo Painting. ApolloPaintingBend.com
