Why do you choose a certified arborist ?
Well, let me tell you why.
Certified arborists are trained to evaluate everything below and above the soil. In this way, we can identify issues and concerns that clients are having and we can reverse the symptoms if timeing is right.
Attached are two images of two different trees. Observations below the soil level indicate the trees were not planted correctly and that very little oversight or care had been issued for some time. Each tree suffered from girdling roots, which act as a tourniquet by wrapping themselves around the lower portion of trunk. If these roots are not pruned , trees will decline or die completely , it’s just a matter of time. Also, the second image shows very heavy root matting over the main root system. This is caused by shallow and frequent watering paired with a tree planted too deep and incorrectly. All of the issues that would’ve led to an eventual decline are now mitigated .
This is why you call an arborist. Consult with people that care about their trade and your trees. They won’t be the cheapest, but they’ll make an impact that is invaluable for the health of your landscape and trees.
Lastly , trees provide immense value, often unseen. If a tree is bothering you around your home, try approaching it from a different perspective or understanding it’s value before making any big decisions.
