As the temperatures climb, "just being hot" can quickly turn into a life-threatening situation. For crew leaders, knowing the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke isn't just helpful: it’s a critical part of the job. ☀️

Heat Exhaustion is your team's warning light. Look for heavy sweating, cold or clammy skin, nausea, and dizziness. This is the time to get them into the shade, provide water, and cool them down immediately.

Heat Stroke is a full-blown emergency. If a worker stops sweating, has hot or red skin, shows confusion, or loses consciousness, call 911 right away. At this stage, their body can no longer regulate its own temperature.

Early recognition saves lives. Make it a habit to check in on your crew every hour during peak heat. ⚠️

Need to update your team's heat safety protocols before the summer peak? CEH Security & Safety Solutions LLC is here to help you tailor a plan that fits your specific job site needs.

Protecting your crew from heat illness comes down to three non-negotiables: Water, Rest, and Shade. ☀️ These are the three pillars of a safe summer worksite.

💧 Water: Drink small amounts frequently: about one cup every 20 minutes. Don't wait until you're thirsty!

💤 Rest: Short, frequent breaks are much more effective than one long break for recovering from the heat.

⛱️ Shade: Resting in a cool, shaded area is essential to bring core body temperatures back to a safe level.

Safety only works if the culture on your site encourages these habits from the top down. Are your supervisors and crews trained to recognize the early signs of heat stress before they become an emergency?

We can help you build a robust heat illness prevention plan tailored to your specific operations. Stay cool, stay safe, and let’s get the job done right! 🛡️

May is Electrical Safety Month, but for industrial and construction crews, electrical hazards are a year-round reality. While some risks are obvious, the "hidden" hazards are often the most dangerous.

Temporary power setups on job sites are prone to wear and tear. A frayed cord or a missing grounding pin might seem like a minor inconvenience, but they are major safety violations that can lead to catastrophic accidents.

Two of your best lines of defense are proper grounding and the consistent use of Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs). A GFCI is designed to protect people, not just equipment: it senses a ground fault and shuts off the power in a fraction of a second, potentially saving a life.

Are your crews inspecting their equipment before every shift? Are your temporary power sources truly protected?

At CEH Security & Safety Solutions LLC, we help you identify these invisible risks before they become incidents. From site safety audits to specialized training, we ensure your team stays powered up and protected.

Contact us today at cehconsulting.org to schedule your safety consultation or book an onsite workshop for your crew. Stay safe and stay grounded.

Falls remain the leading cause of death in the construction industry. While that statistic is heavy, the reality is that these tragedies are 100% preventable.

Tomorrow, May 4th, marks the beginning of the National Safety Stand-Down. It is the perfect time to pause your operations, gather your crew, and have a real conversation about fall protection. Whether it’s double-checking harness fits, inspecting anchor points, or reviewing ladder safety, these 15 minutes can truly save a life.

For small construction and industrial teams, we know the schedule is tight, but safety is the most important tool on your belt. At CEH Security & Safety Solutions, we are dedicated to helping you protect your most valuable asset: your people.

Is your team fully prepared for work at heights? Contact us today at cehconsulting.org to book on-site fall protection training tailored to your specific job site. Let’s make sure everyone on your team goes home safe every single day. 🛡️🏗️

April is Equipment Theft Awareness Month! 🏗️ As the construction season picks up, so do jobsite thefts. Losing heavy machinery or specialized tools can cause major delays and financial strain.

Is your site ready? Now is the time for a thorough security audit. Here are three ways to protect your assets today:

1. Secure the Perimeter: Check fencing and use visible signage to establish a clear boundary. 🚧
2. Enhance Lighting: Motion-activated lights are a powerful deterrent for after-hours activity. 💡
3. Implement Tracking: Use GPS on high-value equipment to increase recovery chances. 🛰️

At CEH Security & Safety Solutions LLC, we’ve been helping teams secure their sites since 2014. We offer expert advice and tailored security programs to fit your specific needs.

Don’t wait for a theft to happen. Contact us today at cehconsulting.org to book a security consultation and keep your project on track.

80°F is your crew's new "yellow light."

Under the 2026 OSHA Heat Rule, 80°F is the official threshold where proactive safety must begin. For small construction and industrial teams, this is the trigger for mandatory hydration and shaded rest protocols. The goal is to prevent heat stress before the 90°F "red light" leads to a medical emergency.

Protecting your team isn’t just about compliance: it’s about operational strength. In a small crew, every person is essential. CEH Security & Safety Solutions specializes in helping small businesses navigate these updated standards with practical, tailored heat stress plans.

Don't wait for the first heatwave to scramble for a plan. Contact us at cehconsulting.org today to ensure your team is protected and your business stays compliant this season. 🏗️

Safety isn't optional; it's essential.

Fire alarm goes off on site: what should your crew do next?

Use this quick checklist:
1) Stop work immediately.
2) If it’s safe, shut down equipment/tools (do not delay evacuation).
3) Evacuate using the nearest safe exit route: do not run, do not go back for gear.
4) Go straight to the designated muster point.
5) Supervisor/lead takes accountability: roll call/headcount and verify visitors/contractors.
6) Assign one person to call 911 (or site emergency number) and provide: address, entry gate, what you see/smell, and who is missing (if anyone).
7) Do NOT silence or reset the alarm: only authorized personnel/emergency responders.
8) No re-entry until the ALL CLEAR is given.
