Even with wildfire smoke a couple weeks back creating hazy skies across the region, the work at the Philadelphia Navy Yard continued.

The conditions may have made for an unusual backdrop, but they didn’t stop these teams from making progress. Construction continued on site as the massive project continued to take shape—one piece of steel at a time.

Since the first pieces of structural steel went up, the project has continued to take shape—and the latest photos show just how quickly this massive new building is rising.

Piece by piece, the structure is coming together, creating a clear picture of the scale and scope of this major Philadelphia development.

📊 Industry Pulse: What the Latest Numbers Tell Us
The data is in, and it's telling an interesting story. Nationally, the U.S. Census Bureau reports nonresidential construction spending ticked up just 0.1% in April — private nonresidential spending has now slowed for seven straight months, while public projects and data centers (up nearly 28% year-over-year) are picking up the slack.

Closer to home, Philadelphia's industrial market is heating up. The city's under-construction pipeline jumped 35% in a single month to 8.7 million square feet, fueled by major projects. Vacancy and sales activity are climbing too, even as the national vacancy rate holds steady.

For BSI, this tracks with what we're seeing in the field: strong momentum in industrial and institutional work, balanced against a more selective commercial landscape. We're proud to be building right in the middle of it — from the Liberty Coca-Cola Production Center and the Navy Yard to the new Pennsbury High School.

🏗️ A Historic Milestone for Pennsbury High School! 🎉 On June 4, students, educators, community leaders, and project partners gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Pennsbury High School—a transformational investment in the future of education and the Pennsbury community.

The nearly 500,000-square-foot campus will serve approximately 2,800 students and staff, featuring state-of-the-art STEM and career-training labs, collaborative learning spaces, performing arts venues, athletic facilities, outdoor learning environments, and more—all while honoring Pennsbury's rich history and traditions.

As one of the largest public school capital projects in Pennsylvania in recent decades, this new high school represents a lasting investment in future generations.

BSI Construction is proud to help bring this vision to life. Over the next several years, we'll work alongside an exceptional team of partners to guide the project toward its anticipated completion and welcome students into their new learning environment in 2029.

A project truly comes to life when the final details settle in. We stopped by the new Thomas Holme Elementary School, and seeing it surrounded by vibrant landscaping and everything in full bloom during Summer was a reminder of why we do what we do.

It's rewarding to watch a jobsite transform into a place where students, teachers, and the community will gather for years to come.
