OUR STORY
Late October 2011, Larry was working at a car dealership. He became bored with being in a cramped office staring at four walls day in and day out. Knowing his love for the great outdoors, he decided to play around with the idea of offering a lawn care service. After researching on the internet, he found there was a high demand for professionals in the property preservation field.
With nothing more than a riding lawn mower, a w**d eater, and a backpack blower, he started up his first ever lawn care service. He worked hard and struggled financially until he hooked up with several private and government preservation companies. For over 2 years, he worked from sunrise to sunset and beyond until the workload became more than he could handle alone. At the time, I was working at the hospital. I recall clearly the day he called me at work to inform me that he simply had to consider hiring someone who could help him. Unsure of the future, and very reserved about starting a payroll and taking on the responsibility of an employee, I was the most logical substitution and, I was FREE labor.
Together, he and I worked this business until it grew into more than we could handle. We hired our first official employee. We also expanded our business and started simple landscaping jobs. We slowly backed down from the property preservation side and began concentrating on building our own clientele. The more our business grew, the more we began to realize that somebody needed to answer calls, arrange estimate meetings, etc. So, scared to death, we hired more field help and I began working more in the office.
In 2016, our business had grown to the point that we needed more equipment, a wider variety of services offered, and our coverage area had expanded to cover 3 counties. We also built a green house and began growing most of the plants used in our landscaping. In August of 2017, under the advisement of our CPA, we became an LLC.
