Sometimes, the most valuable thing you bring home from a conference isn’t a new idea—it’s a new perspective.
That was one of my biggest takeaways from attending the NAHB AMC Conference this week.
Throughout the conference, I found myself thinking differently about our industry—not just about where we are today, but about where we’re headed and what it will take for us to continue adapting, growing, and serving our communities well.
One of the moments that stood out to me was realizing how much we can learn when we step outside of our day-to-day environments and listen to people facing many of the same challenges from completely different perspectives. The conversations, presentations, and connections reminded me that progress doesn’t happen by simply doing what we’ve always done. It happens when we stay curious, share ideas, and are willing to look at challenges in new ways.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been part of this experience and to bring those lessons back with me.
A special thank you to NAHB for the scholarship that made it possible for me to attend this conference. I’m also incredibly thankful to my Executive Board for allowing me to take the time away to attend and invest in my professional development.
I’m leaving this conference with new ideas, renewed perspective, and an even greater appreciation for the people who continue to move our industry forward.
The real value of a conference begins when you return home and put what you learned into action.
