Of course hail can damage solar panels, just like it can to other things. In our real-world Arkansas experience, the hail has had to be BASEBALL size and bigger ⚾ 😮
Thankfully, we've only seen that twice in the past decade on Arkansas, such as this video I took near Hot Springs.
What happens next? Well, if your installer was any good, they reminded you to have your panels added to your homeowners insurance (little to even no increase in premiums. We've seen max ~$90/year extra). And then insurance covers us to get new panels and labor, just like they do for your roof!
We do a lot of insurance jobs taking panels off and reinstalling them when folks get a new roof, because shingles are damaged by much smaller hail. So 9.9999 times out of 10, the panels are ok!
