❄️ EXTREME COLD WEATHER IS COMING — PROTECT YOUR HOME ❄️

With dangerously cold temperatures headed our way, taking a few proactive steps now can help prevent frozen pipes and costly damage:

🧊 Protect plumbing from freezing

• Insulate exposed pipes in crawl spaces, basements, and garages

• Temporarily seal foundation vents by cutting rigid foam board to fit snugly inside the vent openings (remove once temperatures rise)

• Keep cabinet doors open under sinks to allow warm air to circulate

🔥 Maintain consistent heat

• Keep your thermostat set no lower than 55°F

• Make sure supply and return vents are not closed or blocked

🚪 Reduce cold air intrusion

• Check weather stripping around doors and windows

• Seal obvious drafts

🌡️ Check critical systems early

• Replace HVAC filters

• Confirm your heating system is operating properly before the coldest temperatures arrive

• Replace batteries in thermostats
