This project was about more than just replacing a walkway—it was about transforming the entire front of the home. ✨

Our client wanted to expand her existing concrete walkway and create a welcoming focal point that complemented the style of her house.

We started by removing and disposing of the old concrete. Since we were already excavating around the home, we took the opportunity to address a few underlying issues as well. The downspouts were piped with SCH 35 PVC to carry roof runoff away from the foundation, and we exposed, pressure washed, and waterproofed the foundation wall with a fresh coat of foundation tar to help prevent water seepage into the basement.

With the drainage and waterproofing improvements complete, we formed and poured the new expanded walkway and patio area, featuring a beautiful curved section wrapping around the garage. We even moved the grounding next to the garage so it didn't have to stick up in the middle of the walkway!

To finish it off, our client selected C-34 Dark Grey concrete—a stunning choice that creates a bold contrast against the home's light gray siding and white trim. We couldn't be happier with how this one turned out! 👏

We WON'T do this ever, but it's something you should look out for if you're getting concrete work done at your house.

Your siding has a piece called a drip edge which has holes in it. This lets the moisture/condensation behind your siding breathe, which prevents mold and decay.

But if you pour concrete over the siding and say bye-bye to your drip edge- you're really just saying hello to mold, plywood rot, and eventually the sill panel the attached the main framing of your house to your foundation will rot.

And I promise jacking your house up off the foundation to fix it will cost a heck of a lot more than the patio that caused this problem will.

So next time you're questioning which bid to accept remember that saving a couple grand now might actually be costing you tens of thousands later.

Is there anything better than a refreshed stone driveway?!

Our client was able to score several loads of millings from some local roadwork being done, and had us spread the fresh millings on all the stone driveways throughout his farm.

Millings are such a great alternative for stone driveways - cost effective, packs beautifully, and unlike blacktop you don't have to completely start over when there is wear and tear.
