Well, the new Eastonmade Apex log splitter finally arrived last week.
I ran it for a few hours when it first arrived so I cioukd get a good feel for it and I have to say it is amazing.

I was a little skeptical at first because I was going from a 27 ton Champion log splitter down to a 24 ton but it's incredible the difference because of the engineering. The Apex has a large piston and somehow has twice the power.

I upgraded this unit to a 6 way wedge to improve efficiency and it's certainly worth the extra $$$. I also installed an aftermarket hour meter so I'll be able to track how many hours I spend splitting wood.

Attention loyal firewood customers:

I have been offering some of the best quality hardwood firewood for several years now at a price of only $125 per rick. I have also been very cautious and deliberate about not increasing my pricing, however after careful consideration of the continued cost of living I feel like I have no other alternative than to do the same.
It breaks my heart to do this because I know people depend on this wood to stay warm through the year.
I would say that over 90% of my customers use this wood more for ambiance and company entertainment than they do for actual heating purposes.

My current pricing structure will be as follows:

Off season $150 per rick
March-Sept.

Winter Season $175 per rick
Oct.-Feb.

Kindling bundles offered at $10 per bag.

I also have boiler wood available for those that don't mind using pieces that are not uniform in shape and size. Some of these pieces may be unseasoned, short, large, unsplit, or full of knots.

Boiler wood is only $50 per pickup truck but keep in mind you'll need to do a little work before you can burn it.

Edit: all pricing is for pickup only. Delivery is NOT offered at this time.

Finally got the complete splicing kit with 5 fids and 2 additional sailmaker needles.

Lots of free walnut firewood today in Leesburg. It will be great for burning this winter.
There's nothing wrong with it at all but it's just too far for me to drive it all back to the yard.

First shots with the new (to me) DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone. These shots are coming from Falmouth KY after the recent tornado that swept through the area a few weeks ago. There's still a lot of storm damaged trees out there and we're working hard to get them cleaned up.
The lighting on these photos are not great but I just learned how to get in the air and that's good enough for today, lol.
This customer has a lot of really nice mature oaks all over the property and wanted to make his yard safe again while at the same time maintaining the overall health of his trees. We tried to only remove the damaged branches and remove some dead wood as well.
Mark was the climber on most of this job and he did a fantastic job.

Please help me welcome Mr. Mark Little back to the lineup of amazing of climbers and professionals we have working at A-Rated Tree Company.

Mark has previously been with us for 2 seasons before taking a small break to learn some construction.

In his first 2 years here, he quickly learned and remembered how to tie multiple knots, set up rigging devices, operate the skid steer, and over came his fears of climbing.

This year, he's committed to becoming our #1 climber and dedicated to making each and every job run smoothly.

This GRCS is an absolute game changer when it comes to working with dangerous and broken limbs.

The GRCS is basically a mechanical device that allows us to add friction to the system while providing the ability to lift branches upwards instead of only lowering.

This advantage allows is to have much more control over our rigging capabilities and provides a safer work environment.

We are also capable of performing more technical picks as well as work with larger loads.
