Mixed results on the garden this year.
the heat definitely reduced the tomato harvest.
I think we only had BLT's twice, far below normal.
Peas survived above average temperatures last spring, and we did have a few to snack on daily, but well below normal.
For the first time ever I had to buy pickling cukes. The only bright spots were onions and green beans.
WE should not need to buy onions for much of the winter, and the freezer is well stocked with beans this winter. Even tho we had them almost daily the past month. Also the lack of frost so far helped considerabley. In fact we picked a meal's worth while pulling the plants yesterday.
Oh, and as mentioned, we should have pesto to last the coming months. We even had sufficient basil to make a batch of basil jelly. Now we just need to find uses for it. Ideas?
