Years ago I decided to follow 9 news advice and being planting peas on St Patty's day. This year was no exception. In fact in the days since I've planted Swiss chard, spinach, sugar snap peas, lettuce and carrots. Just waiting for onion plants and they'll ne next. We've since had one night that got down to 30, and everything is doing just fine. But I do admittedly had spare seeds left just in case...

Crossing my fingers that is stays cloudy all night. Forecast is for low 30's overnight. Pretty sure most of what's been planted would survive that. But I'll feel much better then they're all standing upright in the morning.

Time to areate your lawn. The plugs will have all winter to break down AND you can still water so you'll pull great plugs! With our clay soils, aerating is THE best thing you can do for your lawn.

YEs, I'm still around, just that it's been busy year. Just wanted to drop by and mention that our first tomato was had for supper tonight. A Purple Cherokee BTW. It was part of a bacon egg and tomato sandwich. Sort of a tradition for the first ripe tomato of the season, and I can report that it was DELICIOUS! Can hardly wait for the next to ripen.
