Quick question:
If your roof starts leaking tomorrow, who's responsible for fixing it?
The answer depends on whether you rent or own.
For renters, the roof itself is generally the landlord's responsibility. But if that leak damages your furniture, electronics, or personal belongings, that's usually where renter's insurance comes into play.
For homeowners, the responsibility falls on you. Repairs, maintenance, inspections, and long-term roof care all come with homeownership.
The biggest mistake we see from both renters and homeowners?
Waiting too long.
If you're renting, report roof issues as soon as you notice them and keep a written record.
If you own, don't ignore small warning signs. A minor roof issue is almost always less expensive to address than a major leak months later.
A little knowledge today can save a lot of frustration tomorrow.
