Structural CAD Drafter

Immediate need for an experienced Structural CAD Drafter with good experience in commercial and residential structural drafting.
The successful candidate will significant experience in preparing structural drawings and understanding structural details for commercial and residential buildings.
Specific responsibities include generating accurate structural drawings in AutoCAD based on architectural plans, structural engineer calculations and design.
Qualifications
-3+ years of experience using AutoCAD / BlueBeam;
-Proficient use of AutoCAD / BlueBeam programs;
-Ability to understand, read and interpret construction drawings and make design changes upon request;
-Familiarity with construction standards and processes;
-Ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person including other third party contractors, architects and design team;
-Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with fast turnarounds; and
-Detail-oriented with high organizational skills.
-Former construction experience, excellent computer skills beyond the programs above, and project management experience are assets.
About the position:
This is a part-time / contract position.

General Contracting Firm headquartered in Los Angeles CA has an immediate opening for a Project Assistant. To assist project managers and superintendents with the technical aspects of the project.

Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office Programs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task a must
- Understanding of construction drawings and documents
- Previous construction experience is required

Job Description:
Provide project administrative support which include but are not limited to the following duties:
- Communicating with subcontractors daily ( Via Email and Phone )
- Answering phones and sending out packages ( Via UPS and FED-EX )
- Collecting and processing insurance certificates
- Basic project accounting
- Manage, create, and distribute project documents (RFIs, submittals, change orders)
- Administer Submittals (i.e., build the Submittal Register; obtain submittals from subcontractors and suppliers; review submittals; expedite Owner/Architect review of submittals; ensure submittals are routed back to vendors and properly tracked).
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors any details or requirements per the project documents.
- Administer Project Closeout (i.e., oversee preparation and review O&M Manuals, as-built drawings, warranties; ensure project archiving is completed).
