What is a locksmith scam? A Locksmith scam occurs when someone calls an ad or website that claims to be a locksmith but is actually a con artist. The con artist will unnessicarily damage your property, causing you to purchase new equipment from them, overpaying as little as $100 or as much as $1000.

To demonstrate, I performed a web search for "locksmith" in Los Angeles - all of the results in the ad space link to scam operations.

These scammers outbid real locksmiths on search engines by paying as much as $50 per click - they can afford to do this because they rip their customers off... Be aware!
