Here's handrail I installed for my grandfather this morning. The flat section was added to give a resting point on the landing, before heading up/down the next set of stairs. Though, with additional aid of the handrail, rest was unnecessary. He charged up to the top floor with gusto!

Typically I'm so focused on the job at hand that taking pictures and posting my work slips my mind. I was able to get a few shots of a backsplash I put up for a friend recently. This is taken before grout was added, so it's not finished. But, I think it's good enough to share.

Laying down some beautiful stripes on the lawn today!

The stripes develop by training the blades of grass to gently bend with each pass of the mower. To get the boldest stripes, I also tune my mower so that the blade is lower on the front of the mower deck than the back (known as "pitching the deck"). This causes the leading edge of the blade to cut the grass, and the trailing edge to act as a fan and blow the grass in a uniform direction. Proper spacing is also important (unless you like squiggly lines 🤔)
