3 things that quietly save you money on plumbing 👇

1. Flush your water heater once a year. Sediment settles at the bottom over time and makes the unit work harder to heat the same water, that shows up on your power bill every single month and can shorten the life of the tank. A yearly flush keeps it running efficient.

2. Don't ignore a running toilet. That little hiss you stop noticing? It can quietly waste gallons a day and add up on your water bill before you ever see the leak. Usually a cheap flapper fix, the sooner the better.

3. Know where your main water shutoff is. If a line ever lets go, the difference between a quick shutoff and a soaked floor is thousands in damage. Find it today so you're not searching for it during an emergency.

3 things every Alabama homeowner should know 🔧

Save this one and it just might save you a plumbing bill.

1. "Flushable" wipes are NOT flushable. They don't break down like toilet paper, they snag in your pipes and cause backups on the way to the sewer. Only flush toilet paper. Everything else goes in the trash.

2. Weak water pressure? Check your shower head first. Before you panic, sediment and mineral buildup clog the little screen/filter inside the shower head. Unscrew it, soak it, clean it out, pressure's back. (If that's not it, it could be your PRV.)

3. Hot water running out too fast? It's probably sediment. Over the years, sediment settles in the bottom of your water heater, kills efficiency, and shortens its life. Get it flushed once a year so you're not replacing it early.
