Scott and Devin braved one of the biggest snowstorms Auburn has seen in a long time to place these “Beta” sites at the University this week.

Five bottle stations were installed around the campus.   One of the original bottle stations Elkay provided at busy Haley Center was replaced and the others were installed at the Auburn Vet School, Thach Hall, Williams Hall, and Facilities.

The “Next Generation” Elkay bottle station features an improved filter status light, brighter colors, large capacity filters and a quick-change wrapper to help in maintaining clean filtered water and improving the ease of filter change out across campus.

Auburn has agreed to monitor the new units and give Elkay valuable feedback as to their performance.

Jenn Donaldson with A. O. Smith and Joe Veasey and Bill Cone with VCM led an informative presentation to members of the HD Supply group covering Alabama. Most of the discussion centered around the new DOE water heating requirements coming up by the end of this decade. This group with HD Supply deals with mostly multi family facilities. There will be many challenges in the next few years that will make a huge impact on how and what we do with water heating equipment.

We were pleased to sponsor a lunch and learn to the plumbing department at Dewberry Engineering in Birmingham this week.

Kevin Freeman, owner of Town and Country Plastics gave an interesting presentation on acid neutralization tanks, monitoring systems, storage tanks and other products they manufacturer.

The plumbing design team at Dewberry were very engaged and left the meeting with some new ideas and methods to handle chemical waste in their design.

Thanks to Kevin for coming to Alabama and assisting us educate the local engineering community!
