Just a little tip when buying potted plants from your local nursery or department store. When they come in pots like this there are multiple plants in the one pot. It’s super easy to divide and then you have three plants you can spread around your bed.

Paid around $14 for this size pot and got multiple poppies. Had I bought them individually they would have cost $7.99 each.
More bang for your buck.

There’s nothing more satisfying to me than a before and after picture. When a vision becomes reality in the garden. 🙂

Dug up all the grass, widened the pathway, laid landscape fabric down, fresh pine straw and filled with pea gravel. Now the fun part, the flowers! Ready for the cold to be over!

If you are looking for an easy and great way to add height to your flower garden beds add in some Mexican Petunias. These purple beauties can grow one to four feet high. While some find them to be invasive they can be managed with annual pruning, in late winter or early spring. I cut mine back to the base each year in the winter. They are easily divided and super easy to grow. They bloom multiple times during the summer and require very little care to keep them happy and vibrant.
